Back on track! Coloring a hair piece.

Hey y'all!
  I haven't posted a thing for the past two years, but not because I didn't want to, but because there was no much news in the hair world to post about.
  So now, I would like to ensure that everybody is doing well with their hair ( either growing or attached), and will share some of my own experience ( as a professional ) about the hair things.
    Recently a client was asking me how he can color the hair piece safely ( meaning- not to color the base of the system, but just the hair).
  First of all, you should pick one level lighter color than your system hair is ( this is to avoid making it too dark- system hair absorbs color differently than normal hair). 
Second - make sure the hair is nicely washed, so the residue of hair styling products will not get on the way( might get spotty if there is a build up of product).  Do not over dry it, its best if color is applied on slightly damp hair, like 80-90% dry.
 And third- when you mix the color, add a table spoon of water to the mix of color, besides the usual ingredients- color and peroxide/developer.
  Next- Pin the system to a Styrofoam head, and secure the surroundings with a papers, or a plastic material( the dye might sprinkle around)
 And here is the moment you prepped all this for- The application!
 Comb the hair ( if tangled- take your time to do so BEFORE  you start application), and then apply small amounts with the color brush onto the hair, starting from the back of the system, and then comb it thoroughly around. Separate the next section, and continue applying, then comb, and so on, and so on until the entire hair has color on it   . Then you have to time the processing- it should be no more than 10-15 mins for re-touching the color. After that- rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water, shampoo, condition, and final rinse it. Dry the usual way- wrapping it in a towel. Check if any spots need repeating of color.

Lace front cleaning and attachment ( hair replacement)

Here is some help for my hair wearers - that is how to clean your frontal part, or piece, when you need to .  You can use those directions for the whole system - either partial , or a full cap( whole head).

Ok. First is application instruction:
1. Comb clean  all hairs around the hairline of the system, Draw line with a pencil or a pressing teeth of a comb under the edge of the system , and then secure it with the metallic clips
2. Apply one coat above the line, make sure you paste some of the white pencil, so it's not visible too much . Let it dry clear( a few mins). Once it dries, you can re-apply  the second coat, and let it dry until is almost clear, do not wait for it to completely dry, then carefully position the piece, press model first , and align it towards the sides, one side at the time. Press gently with your fingertips along the application to secure the placement , and when you reach the other end- check for accuracy , and then press with the teeth of a comb. Check front edge if is all down, if not- touch-up with glue on a small stick.
  Removal:
1. Secure the forehead above your eyes with a cotton bandana, or a paper towel, then spray( or dab with a cotton ball)  a lace release( or 91% alcohol) all over the lace. Wait 30 sec and try to lift the lace. It should lift pretty easily, but if doesn't, just spray/dab and wait again. Once off, wipe the lace onto a piece of glossy paper( old magazines), that should take almost all the gook , if any. If the attachment is not fresh, try to wipe the gooky stuff from your forehead with glossy paper as well. If it doesn't come off, apply with a piece of cotton, or paper towel some  solvent over it, to soften it.
If there is any residue remaining onto the lace, apply small amount of the solvent onto it as well, and rub it between your fingers, then leave it aside, base down for 15-30 mins. After that apply small amount of shampoo directly onto the lace, and rub it with your fingers, then wet it with some water and gently rub it like u're washing a cloth. Rinse, if necessary repeat the shampoo , and after that, just roll it in a cotton towell to dry. After it dries, check for remaining spots from the glue, and just wipe them with the towel.
Before attaching it , make sure the lace is thoroughly dry.

Fall time

With fall coming, here come all the holidays , starting with Halloween( yup, that's one that I like!), Thanksgiving , and everybody's favorite Christmas and New Years .
And everyone wants to look good for the holidays!
 After the summer exposure to the sun, hair needs some cleaning the ends, to restore its health and shine . 'Cleaning' means - cut off the dead , brittle ends , to make room for the healthy hair to grow.
 It may take one inch, might take more, but this is 'a must' for your hair health. That and the treatments and mask I mention In my previous blogs.
 Good will do also( for color treated hair) going to your stylist and requesting a glaze, or a semi- permanent color application on your hair, after your coloring.

Summer hair

It's a new day/ evening  for blogging ! Isn't that fun! I don't know about you, but I kinda like it!
To write stuff that comes to mind, share things...
   Ok, today I will enlighten you about how to maintain your hair nice and shiny without much effort, through hot, dry,or even cold weather.
As we all know- hair gets dry due to sun exposure, water damage due to pool and  ocean/sea swimming.
   The easiest ( and fastest) way to  make this happen is : apply generous amounts of any natural oil ( Shea, Argan, coconut butter, etc, even the simplest olive oil!) on your hair BEFORE you wet it, when it's still dry, wrap it with plastic, and let it sit for about an hour. After that wash with shampoo, and rinse with 1tbsp vinegar, diluted in 1 cup of water. Work this through, and rinse, rinse, rinse. If needed , you can use some conditioner, for fine hair though- very small amounts.
